Divers Street Rods
This C2 corvette is a dream come true. The body was removed from the original frame and immediately underwent surgery. The floor and firewall were completely cut out to allow it to sit as low as possible on the Art Morrison perimeter chassis, complete with AME's Sport independent front suspension, Multi-Link Independent Rear Suspension, Wilwood brakes, and rack and pinion power steering. After the body was securely mounted to the new chassis, our skilled fabricators built custom chassis tubing to add to the existing framework.
A brand new GM LS376 crate engine will power this street rod with over 525hp at the crank, mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox for a sporty racecar feel, then splined to a custom aluminum driveshaft to turn the Gen 5 Camaro rear end. The floor, wheel tubs, seat pans, and firewall are all scratch built fiberglass to blend in and look original, while concealing the T56 trans, 2.5" Stainless exhaust, custom chassis tubing, and independent rear suspension. The special ordered 18x8" and 19x11" Kompression wheels are wrapped in Continental DW Tires.
The interior is also scratch built, custom fit to this vehicle's unique modifications. Fiberglass is widely used to create these one-off parts such as the dashboard, gauge cluster bezel, center console, headliner, rear side panels and more. The sound system will include a touchscreen display, 6.5" door Speakers, and two 8" Subwoofers encased in an MDF and fiberglass box.
The exterior has remained mostly true to original with exception to the bumpers, grille, and rocker panels. All the bumpers have been trimmed and tightly fit to the body, the grille shell was fabricated from aluminum, and the rocker panels again built from fiberglass to better fit the vehicle's personality.
